FOODBANK | UX/UI Design Refresh

This self-initiated project reimagined a Foodbank app that connects donors with local foodbanks, helping users discover needed items and create donation shopping lists. Informed by user feedback and accessibility principles, I aimed to design a clearer, more intuitive experience that encourages giving and optimises community impact

Project carried out as part of the Google Coursera Course, March 2023

(DISCLAIMER: This is an old project that I carried out at the start of my learning journey - however I have included it because I beleive it demonstrates strong foundational thinking in UX/UI design)

Identifying the problems

Using insights from app store reviews, I identified key pain points in the user journey, particularly around navigation and task completion. By analysing recurring feedback patterns, I uncovered usability issues that were preventing users from accessing essential features efficiently

Ideating the solutions

I focused on ideas that simplify navigation and improve usability. Potential solutions included a clear landing page which introduces the user, filtering options for foodbanks and products to make searches faster, reworking the UI for consistency across screens, and refining visual hierarchies to guide users intuitively through key actions. These concepts aimed to create a cleaner, more accessible interface that supports users in finding help quickly and efficiently

Designing the experience

These four redesigned screens carry through a consistent and modern UI design. Each screen emphasises clear visual hierarchies, ensuring that essential information stands out and actions are easy to complete. The user journey is intuitive and streamlined, with logical navigation and well-structured layouts that reduce cognitive load. These designs aim to create a cohesive experience that feels simple, accessible, and user-friendly
